I’m having an inside wedding, no matter what. What is a good fabric/style to go with? Are the lace dresses really more for outdoor/beach weddings??
No, they are definitely not just for beach weddings. Lace dresses are classic and feminine without being sparkly. And lace dresses come in all different types of cuts and silhouettes. It’s really just whatever looks best on your figure and fits the style wedding you are having.

Lace dresses have always been a traditional wedding fabric and are not exclusive to any kind of wedding. Any type of fabric or style is suitable for an indoor wedding. You base the style on your body type, what looks best on you and what you love. If you are having a formal wedding, you want a floor length dress with a train. If you are having a small, informal wedding, you might want a teal length dress or a floor length dress with a sweep train or no train.
Silk is more expensive than polyester. Satin, lace, organza and chiffon are all traditional fabrics. Lace can be worn anywhere.

The silhouette determines beach/outdoor weddings more than anything and that isn’t to say you can’t have a low-pouf dress indoors.

Are they both wedding dresses? ABSOLUTELY! The difference is people tend to go for less poufy, more comfortable dresses for the outdoor/beach wedding.
I actually chose an "informal" style of wedding dress for my church wedding (indoors) and normal reception with cocktail hour, dinner, and open bar. I chose it because I wanted to be comfortable!

Personally, I think of lace for indoors and chiffon and organza for the beach.
Here is the dress I just bought, and I am getting married in an evening church ceremony and having a ballroom reception. I thought the lace actually made my dress more formal, not less.
