Weddings abroad?

Any idea how much a wedding abroad costs? Cyprus preferably. Can the wedding be in a church? I am thinking in the lines of about30 people .I am only making enquires as i have planned my daughters wedding here in the UK ,but there is so much haslte with some familt members ,i cant take it

awe that’s great you do not pay for the guests holiday you just give the wedding day meal? and never mind what they are all saying your mother of the bride and its your daughters day you cant please them all so calm down make sure theirs a spa for you to chill and relax for a few days,life is too short and if they don’t like it well they don’t need to be there!!!!!!!try and chill just now sounds like you need a wee glass of wine put on something slack and put your feet up hot bath and a glass of wine and listen to some nice music

hello,
we are getting married abroad. we realize that not many people can afford to come. so we would like to have a small statement in our invitations stating something like "
We would love to share this special day with you. However, considering the destination of this event your absence will be sincerely missed and completely understandable".

any ideas on how to better word this??

well for example my uncle and aunts…I know they are able to purchase a ticket or make the trip (can’t take time off work etc…) but I HAVE to give them an invitation they’re my aunt and uncle

my aunt and uncle AREN’T able to purchase a ticket ($1300-1500)

i wouldn’t put that in the invitation. i would feel insulted. if you know that they are not gonna go then why send them an invitation?

Beach Weddings?

I am looking to get married on a small, private beach in Connecticut in June of 2008. Has anyone ever had one or heard anything about them? Are they truly magical or are they more work than they’re worth? Please help me. We’re sending out invites soon and I’d like to tell people where it’s going to be.

I live in New England and New England can be very rainy during the month of June but the upside is it is not as hot and muggy as July or August. I live in Maine and alot of people I know that have outdoor weddings in the summer check out farmers almanac to see what they predict for the weather. So far they all have had succesful unrainy weddings. I know some people may think Farmers almanac a joke but it is pretty acurate. It wouldn’t hurt to spend a few bucks to get one and pick your date according to that.

What are some very cheap outdoor venues in New Orleans, LA for weddings?

I’m getting married this summer and I want to get married in New Orleans, but we are on a VERY limited budget. Is there any small outdoor venues that are beautiful and nice, but also cheap?

Here are some locations that are listed as free/cheap for weddings:

Audubon Park
Located between famous St. Charles Avenue and the Mississippi River

Old Spanish Fort Gardens
A lovely site on the banks of Bayou St. John, located in a quiet residential area of New Orleans.

Louis Armstrong Park (Fee For Large Parties)
Located in downtown New Orleans on famous Rampart Street, this area used to be a gathering place for slaves and was one of the birthplaces of jazz. (Recommended for ‘day use’ only.)

City Park
In the heart of New Orleans sits 1,500 beautiful acres including the largest collection of mature live oaks in the world, 8 miles of lagoon, and some very beautiful and inspiring settings for your celebration. Click here for more information.

Note: Specific locations such as the Botanical Gardens, Peristyle, Fountain, etc. do have a fee and should be reserved well in advance. For other locations in City Park, there is no fee.

French Quarter Courtyard
Usually, if you are staying at a French Quarter Hotel or B&B (Bed and Breakfast) there may be a lovely courtyard for your celebration with no fee or a modest fee. If not, I can arrange for the use of one for your wedding at a reasonable cost.

Many local fine restaurants are happy to provide facilities for your wedding and dinner / reception after the ceremony:

Jackson Square

A nearby site is the Washington Artillery Monument, overlooking Jackson Square with the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral in the background (Fee varies depending on expected number of guests – minimum $150). An advance permit is required for both locations.

Any public or city owned property must be coordinated with the city. You won’t want to be in the middle of "And do you take billy bob to be your lawfully wedded…POLICE, EVERYBODY DOWN"…you know

Call the city clerk’s office and check with them. If they don’t know they can point you in the right direction.

How do I explain how important weddings are to my boyfriend?

Every girl knows what im talking about. You know, why weddings, dressing up, and walking down the aisle are such huge dreams of girls. My boyfriend thinks it’s stupid and doesn’t think when we get married, that we should have a wedding and that it’s a waist of money.

Can you list some reasons why it’s so important and why every detail is important? I can’t seem to explain my feelings towards this.

Well weddings aren’t important to everyone. A lot of people are interested in being married, but the actually wedding itself doesn’t mean as much to them.
But the point should be, that a nice wedding is important to YOU. You don’t need to convince him why it is important to everyone else, just convince him why it is important specifically to you.
